Where we sail

Located about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh, Lake Arthur is the place our fleet calls home. Here, among fellow sailors and the changing leaves of autumn, Pitt Sailing stores its fleet of six Flying Juniors. In 2013 the club was fortunate enough to purchase this fleet from Connecticut College. These boats are 2-person dinghies with a mainsail and jib. They are excellent vessels for not only teaching new sailors the fundamentals of sailing, but also racing in college.

Our Mission:
The purpose of the Pitt Sailing Club is to establish a unique co-ed organization which will provide instruction and the necessary resources to University of Pittsburgh affiliates to participate in the sport of sailing, both recreationally and competitively, and to cultivate a positive and encouraging atmosphere for introducing students to the sport of sailing.
